Reliable Agentic Workflows for Sustainable Multi-Language Scientific Software Interfaces
Duration: July 2026 – December 2026 (6 months)
Prototype development is the continuous core of the project: it starts early and is refined iteratively throughout, while workflow mapping, validation, evaluation, and dissemination activities layer onto it. The timeframes below therefore overlap rather than run in strict sequence.

Phase overview
| Timeframe | Focus | Outcome |
|---|---|---|
| Jul 2026 | Workflow mapping & baseline audit | Workflow map produced; automation, AI, validation, and review points identified. |
| Aug-Nov 2026 | Prototype development. AI-assisted adaptation of C++ materials into MATLAB-facing wrappers, docs, and examples, refined each cycle. | A steadily maturing prototype across the case-study subset. |
| Sep-Nov 2026 | Validation framework, built alongside the prototype | Unit and integration tests, numerical regression checks, cross-platform CI plan, and human-review rubric. |
| Oct-Nov 2026 | Case-study evaluation & failure-mode analysis | Validation results summarized; ≥3 high-impact failure modes characterized. |
| Nov 2026 | Community feedback & refinement | Feedback from Cantera, URSSI, and MathWorks contacts incorporated. |
| Dec 2026 | Final dissemination | Deliverables released and archived. |

Community feedback will be requested at three points: after the workflow map, after validation on representative artifacts, and before final release. At least three public updates (roughly every two months) will invite feedback on workflow design, validation criteria, toolbox usability, and generalizability.
